Spinach Seed Production
Spinach seed production is one of the most specialized areas of vegetable seed multiplication. As a cross-pollinated crop, spinach requires precise management of parent lines, strict isolation standards, and extensive field expertise to ensure genetic purity and high-quality seed production. Spinach is an annual crop that is typically sown during March and April and harvested in August. The crop performs best in fertile, well-structured soils with good moisture retention and benefits from dry, coastal growing conditions. A seed rate of approximately 10 kg per hectare is generally used to achieve optimal crop establishment and support consistent seed production.
